Find out more

The National Alliance of Black School Educators (NABSE) is the nation's premier non-profit organization devoted to furthering the academic success for the nation's children - particularly children of African descent.

MISSION

The purpose of NC NABSE is to enhance and facilitate the education and social development of all students, especially students of African descent, throughout North Carolina local school districts. We also work in partnership with the NC Department of Public Instruction and local school districts in North Carolina in delivering our services.

NC NABSE GOALS:

  • Promote and facilitate the education of all students, with a particular focus on African American students;
  • Establish a coalition of African American educators, administrators and other professionals directly and indirectly involved in the educational process;
  • Create a forum for the exchange of ideas and strategies to improve opportunities for African American educators and students;
  • Identify and develop African American professionals who will assume leadership positions in education and influence public policy concerning the education of African Americans.

ensuring educational equality

NC NABSE are advocates for Educational Equality.

Educational excellence cannot exist without educational equity.

Educators have a responsibility not only to teach students, but to

support them in their social and emotional development. To ensure such

learning and development is possible for every student, educators must

adapt to the diversity of their community and allow students to see their

lives reflected in curriculum, and school practices.

More equity workshops coming in the near future.
